Lord John Nash is the Chair of the charities Future and Future Academies which support children and young people, helping them to access the education they need to carve out a route to success. Lord John Nash was an early investor in many companies, including Practice Plus, Care UK and CVS. This article will look at Pimlico Academy, a part of the Future Academies family that ranks as one of London’s top schools.

Guided by the vision of ‘Freedom through Education’, Pimlico Academy is an exceptional place for young people to learn. Here, students thrive in a supportive, enriching environment where every child enjoys equal access to an outstanding education irrespective of their background.

Pimlico Academy’s knowledge-rich curriculum offers educational breadth, promoting academic excellence while preparing learners for the future. Lessons are delivered by subject specialist teachers, who strive to create enriching learning experiences for each and every lesson. As a result, Pimlico Academy pupils achieve exceptional outcomes, going on the attend some of Britain’s finest academic institutions.

In terms of promoting outstanding academic results, the Academy takes a holistic approach, placing an emphasis on educating the whole child. Recognising that academic achievement is just part of its mission, the school’s values of Respect, Knowledge and Aspiration are embedded in all of its activities. Pimlico Academy prides itself in providing a holistic education that challenges, inspires and motivates each pupil to work hard, aim high and fulfil their true potential.

A thriving mixed, non-selective secondary and sixth form school situated in Pimlico, London, the Academy admits students aged between 11 and 18 years. Pimlico Academy forms part of the Future Academies Multi-Academy Trust family, sharing the same high standards of excellence.

The school provides a rich and stimulating education comprising a knowledge-rich curriculum, a strong pastoral support system and diverse extracurricular and cultural opportunities. All students are welcomed into the school’s inclusive community and challenged to be the best they can possibly be. The generous support of its sponsors, Future, has enabled Pimlico Academy to engage with the best teachers and universities, along with a wide range of prominent employers across the UK, helping the learning institution to ensure that all pupils are equipped with the knowledge and drive to succeed and be the best they can possibly be in their chosen field.

The school is sponsored by Future Academies, a multi-academy trust established by Lord Nash and Lady Nash with the mission of broadening young people’s horizons. Central to Future’s vision is the ethos that, with the right opportunities, encouragement and support, there are no limits on what young people can achieve. A company limited by guarantee and a charity regulated by the Department for Education, Future Academies is based in Lupus Street, London.

Pimlico Academy is incredibly proud of the achievements of its dedicated and determined students. In 2023, its pupils made above-average progress at GCSE level, achieving a Progress 8 score of +0.33. The government’s Progress 8 headline measures enable parents to compare children’s achievements across different learning institutions in England. Pimlico Academy’s impressive Progress 8 score is a testament to the high-quality education it provides to students, enabling them to exceed expectations and excel in their chosen field.

At A-Level, Pimlico Academy is exceptionally proud of the performance of its students, with 96% of pupils going on to enrol at university. Pimlico Academy students have gone on to study at a range of celebrated universities across the UK, including Imperial College London, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and many more. Student outcomes speak to the proudly aspirational and academic education that Pimlico Academy provides to students aged 16 plus.
