Christian Comair, GET Group indirect owner, has a wealth of experience overseeing major construction and redevelopment projects, having worked on everything from water supply plants and marine works to the construction and redevelopment of luxury villas and palaces. This article will take a closer look at GET Group – led by Kristian Comair – and the company’s work in the hospitality sector, creating world-class hotels and resorts.
Having successfully completed 39 projects to date, GET Group has a global workforce of circa 7,000. Based in Doha, Qatar, the company was established in 2008 and is currently overseeing various landmark projects across Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, and Greece.
GET Group was founded with the vision of creating the best and most respected project management and general contractors organization in the whole of the MENA region and beyond. GET Group aims to achieve extraordinary results for its customers while simultaneously building rewarding careers for its people.
Rooted in the values of safety, quality, integrity, innovation, and relationships, GET Group adheres to rigorous health and safety standards irrespective of the size and scope of the project. In terms of its environmental objectives, GET Group utilizes state-of-the-art engineering processes to guarantee efficient air pollution control, recycling, industrial hygiene, waste disposal, wastewater management, and better preservation of nature and public health.
Situated in the Moraitika region of Corfu, the Miramar Hotel is a five-star destination developed by GET Group. The project involved renovating the existing main building, with the hotel complex dating back to the 1960s and covering a flat expanse stretching along the coastline and incorporating an olive grove. Located at the center of the resort, the main building’s renovation was undertaken with an emphasis on respecting the existing building while ensuring its load-bearing capacity and materiality. Internal layouts and external facades were upgraded to meet the demanding expectations of modern travelers.
GET Group transformed the space to maximize views in all directions, placing an emphasis on natural materials, culminating in a timeless aesthetic. Blending local warmth and hospitality with sophisticated class, the Miramar Hotel project also included construction of several ancillary buildings, parking areas, and VIP suites, as well as a new swimming pool and landscaping development.
Bismillah Hotel was a turnkey conversion project undertaken by GET Group that involved all essential design and build work necessary to facilitate the creation of a ground floor lobby, hotel suites, an elevator, lounge, staff bedrooms, and a common pantry. The project took 12 months to complete, with the property located in Souq Waqif, Qatar, a popular shopping destination built on the site of an old trading market on the banks of the Wadi Musheireb. Against the impressive backdrop of Doha’s modern skyline, Souq Waqif invites visitors to take a step back in time, wandering past mud-daubed buildings and exploring the gold souq, experiencing the traditional Qatari sport of falconry, or taking in the local art scene at Souq Wakif Art Centre.
Another project GET Group was proud to place its weight behind was the construction of Al Bidda Hotel, another property located in Souq Waqif, Qatar. An expansive development scheme covering a 24,000-square-meter footprint, the project took two years to complete, culminating in the creation of a luxury hotel comprising 32 suites in total along with a full renovation of the building’s façade.
GET Group is proud to offer its clients a full spectrum of design and construction services covering a variety of different specialisms. In addition to creating and remodeling landmark hotels and luxury resorts, GET Group has also successfully completed military and mega projects with spends in excess of one billion dollars, as well as overseeing the creation of marine works and other vital infrastructure.
